Avoidance of adhesion

Epoxy resin system Weicon Anti-Stick

To prevent unwanted adhesion, Weicon has developed a special sprayable epoxy resin system – Weicon Anti-Stick.

Weicon Anti-Stick

This is a liquid, grey 2-component epoxy resin system with mineral fillers to protect surfaces subject to high levels of stress against aggressive chemicals and corrosion. It was specially developed for processing with a low-pressure system. In addition to the mineral fillers, Anti-Stick contains special additives that create an anti-stick effect and thus prevent the adhesion of flour, dust or suspended particles, for example.

The epoxy resin system has good chemical and thermal resistance up to +120 °C. It is free from solvents and cures with virtually no shrinkage.

Coating with Weicon Anti-Stick, which gives surfaces a very smooth finish, increases the flow rate of liquids and thus increases the efficiency of pumps, pipes, valves, etc. by 5 to 20 %.

Various areas of application

Anti-Stick is applied directly to the parts by sandblasting after thorough preparation of the substrate. The coating adheres very well to a wide variety of surfaces and is suitable for a wide range of parts such as plain bearings, chutes, funnels and pipes as well as for coating cast parts and valves. The system can be used in mechanical and plant engineering, in apparatus engineering, in the paper industry, in the bulk goods industry, in exhaust systems, in mining, in open-cast mining, in chemical plants and in many other areas of industrial production.

In all cases, preliminary tests under realistic conditions are recommended, especially if the parts are also exposed to high temperatures or mechanical stress. Anti-Stick is suitable for use alone or in combination with one of the other Weicon Plastic Metal types for a system structure as an anti-stick coating.

Plastic Metal

The term Plastic Metal describes epoxy resin systems, which consist of two components, one resin and one hardener. Depending on the type, the resin component is mixed with steel, aluminium powder or mineral

fillers, all of which improve the technical characteristics, such as the compressive strength and thermal conductivity.

The epoxy resin system is suitable for a broad range of applications in different industrial areas. Plastic Metal can be used, for example, in industrial series production for adhesive bonding, coatings and durable repairs on different materials.

After mixing the two components, the Plastic Metal cures at room temperature to a solid, metal-like material, which can then be machined. It can be drilled, milled, sanded or filed, if required.
